Chimpanzees' Halloween Party at Kumamoto Sanctuary

5th and 6th October, 2013
We held a Halloween Party for the chimpanzees at the Kumamoto Sanctuary.

Unfortunately it was raining because of the typhoon, but we enjoyed making Jack-o-lanterns out of huge pumpkins. We created a lot of unique faces.

Despite the rain, all the chimpanzees appeared to be really excited. All of them were stuffing their mouths full of this special food, their food grunts echoing throughout the enclosures. By the next morning, the chimpanzees had eaten all of the pumpkins.

Despite yesterday's hard rain, it was incredibly sunny the next day. Participants made a birthday cake for Shirou and Gorou, who were born in October, and we celebrated their birthday.

Sincere thanks to all participants and staff at the Kumamoto Sanctuary!
